there is very little i love more in the world than a scented candle. i love the light and the scents (obviously) and its so very soothing, but there are certain ways to burn the candle correctly to ensure an even long lasting burn. Be sure to always burn the candle at least 1 hour for every inch of diameter to achieve a full melt pool. This helps the candle create a 'memory' and the candle will only easily burn to where it's burned before, and if done incorrectly, the candle will burn downwards creating a tunnel and wasting wax. however, if burning a pillar candle (such as a large scented candle from Primark) do not let the candle melt all the way to the edge of the candle as the wax will drip. Be sure to trim your wicks, After the first lighting of your favorite candle, and before subsequent burning sessions, trim your wick to 1/4" and don't forget to dispose of any matches and or wicks correctly (i.e. not in the wax).

my favourite candles have got to be Yankee, Woodwink and Primark candles, only because they are the most accessible for me. i havent tried any online retailers that make home-made candles although i would love to give them a go, i just wouldnt know which ones to try. i would love to make my own candles too, when i get a little time, i am going to look into that and try my handle at scented candle making (how exciting).
i bought a few candles recently, from Yankee and Primark and have only burned the 'drift away and christmas rose' they both smell devine! i cant wait to burn the christmas cookie and the primark ones cos they are to die!. i also cant wait to try the Reed Diffusers, i noticed that have just started stocking them in primark and the gold bottle smells so delicious.. i need one.
